York Light Opera Company presents the high-energy musical based on the hit 1980 movie, featuring music and lyrics by Dolly Parton.
York Light Opera Company are back at the York Theatre Royal with 9 to 5 The Musical, running from Thursday 4 February to Saturday 13 February 2027. It's a ten-day run in the Main House, so you've got plenty of dates to choose from if you can't make the opening night.
The show is based on the 1980 film, and the music and lyrics are by Dolly Parton, with a book by Patricia Resnick. If you know the movie, you'll recognise the setup: three unlikely friends who find there's nothing they can't do, even in a man's world. The company describes it as a high-energy, outrageous, and thought-provoking show, and it's an amateur production presented by arrangement with Musical Theatre International.
