Truckers Against Trafficking brings its free human trafficking awareness training program to the Tampa Convention Center, marking the organization's first event there.
Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) is coming to the Tampa Convention Center on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, from 9 AM to 3 PM. It's an outdoor setup: they'll be at Front Drive Zone 3, with vendors spread around the perimeter of the Sail Event Plaza. This is the first time the organization has brought the event to the Convention Center, and they're expecting around 150 people to stop by.
If you haven't heard of them, TAT is a nonprofit that trains truck drivers, transit operators, and other transportation workers to recognize and report human trafficking. They provide free training programs and materials that teach workers how to spot the physical and behavioral signs of trafficking—the kind of things someone might notice during a routine stop or a shift on the road. It's the kind of work that happens in the background of the logistics and transit industries we usually take for granted.
Because the event is outdoors at the Sail Event Plaza, it's more of a drop-in than a formal session. You can walk through the vendor area and get a sense of what they do without committing your whole day. If you're in the transportation business, it's a direct way to see how their training works; if you're not, it's a chance to learn about a side of the industry you probably never think about. It's a small-scale gathering—around 150 people—so it should be easy to move through and talk to the people running it.
