Steinway Signature Series: Elena Ulyanova

Elena Ulyanova plays the New Tampa Performing Arts Center on Saturday, November 21, as part of the Steinway Signature Series. It's a solo piano recital, and the program is built around her work as a Steinway Artist.

Ulyanova is an award-winning concert pianist who's played across Russia, Europe, and the United States. The Beethoven Society of America called her "a phenomenal, gifted performer," and that's a good shorthand for what she brings to the stage. Her playing covers a wide range—from powerful virtuosity and brilliant technique to a more delicate, elegant finesse. It's that contrast that defines her: she can lean into the big, commanding moments of a piece and then pull back into something quiet and refined, and she's known for the rich sound palette she pulls out of the piano.

If you're not familiar with her, that's exactly what to expect from the night. The program is a showcase of her range, and since it's a solo recital, the focus stays entirely on her and the instrument. It's the kind of evening that works whether you're a regular at the arts center or just looking for a night of live piano.

The concert starts at 8 PM and runs about two hours. Tickets are $20 to $25 depending on where you sit, and there are select tickets for $10 through the venue's Affordable Art commitment. You can find them at the New Tampa Performing Arts Center, 8550 Hunters Village Road, Tampa, Florida 33647.
