A concert celebrating America's 250th anniversary through a programme of American music for piano, voice, cello and more, performed by the New Tampa Piano and Pedagogy Academy faculty with guest musicians.
New Tampa Piano and Pedagogy Academy is putting on a concert at the New Tampa Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, October 27, titled Star, Stripes and Music: A 250th Anniversary Celebration. It runs from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, and it's free and open to the public.
The occasion is America's 250th anniversary, and the academy is marking it with a program of American music. The repertoire is written for piano, voice, cello, and more, so you'll hear a few different combinations of instruments throughout the night rather than just one ensemble. The faculty of the New Tampa Piano and Pedagogy Academy will be the ones performing, and they'll be joined on stage by guest musicians.
If you're not familiar with them, the New Tampa Piano and Pedagogy Academy is a local music school, and this is their faculty taking the stage. The program is built around American composers, with the piano, voice, and cello as the main threads running through it. It's a chance to hear a variety of American styles in one sitting, and with the guest musicians in the mix, the lineup will shift from piece to piece.
