Family-friendly Halloween night of science at MOSI with a planetarium show, hands-on experiments, a live magician and candy stations.
MOSI is hosting Spooktacular Science on Saturday, October 17, from 6 PM to 9 PM. It's a family-friendly night that mixes science and discovery with Halloween activities, and it's built around the museum's hands-on approach.
The evening starts in the Saunders Planetarium, which sits inside the Holloway Digital Dome Theatre. It's the second largest planetarium in the United States, and the night opens with a cosmic journey through it. From there, you move into the hands-on part of the night: slimy creations in the Potions Lab, a Phantom Flight adventure at the drone zone, and stations for liquid nitrogen ice cream and creepy candy. There's also a live magician, balloon artists, and face painting to round things out.

For context, MOSI—the Museum of Science & Innovation—is the Tampa Bay region's center for science and innovation, a hands-on science center in North Tampa at 4801 E. Fowler Ave. Spooktacular Science is one of those nights where the museum stays open late and leans into the season, so it works for all ages. Tickets are $30 for adults 18 and older and $20 for children 17 and under, and MOSI members save $5 on those prices.
