A sensory-friendly morning at MOSI with reduced lights and sounds, in partnership with the Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (C.A.R.D.), offering hands-on activities and a relaxed atmosphere.
MOSI is hosting Sensory Saturday on Saturday, June 12, from 8 AM to 10 AM. It's a sensory-friendly morning at the museum, put on in partnership with the Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (C.A.R.D.) at the University of South Florida. The whole thing is designed for people with sensory differences and their families, so you can explore the museum in a supportive environment.
On these mornings, MOSI transforms into a sensory-friendly space: the lights are lowered, noise levels are kept down, and the atmosphere is kept relaxed to encourage creativity and discovery. The session includes hands-on activities, the museum's exhibits, and a sensory-friendly planetarium experience. If you're not ready to head home when the session ends, you're welcome to stay past 10 AM, which is when the museum opens to the general public.
For a bit of context, MOSI is the Museum of Science & Innovation, which they describe as the intersection of science, technology, and innovation in the Tampa Bay region—a hands-on science center with permanent and rotating exhibits and immersive programming. Sensory Saturday is one of several such mornings they run throughout the year; this one falls on June 12, following dates on December 5, February 6, and April 10.

Tickets are $7 in advance for non-members and $10 at the door, and free per person for MOSI members. The session runs from 8 AM to 10 AM, and you can hang around afterward when the museum opens to everyone else.
