Homeschool STEM class for ages 8-10 where students build a Rube-Goldberg-style contraption to explore kinetic and potential energy.
MOSI is hosting Roll with It! on Tuesday, March 2, 2027, as part of its SEED Technology series. It's a homeschool class for kids ages 8 to 10, and the whole session is built around one project: building a Rube Goldberg-style contraption. If you're not familiar, those are the chain-reaction machines where one small movement triggers a whole sequence of events—a ball rolls down a ramp, hits a domino, which tips a book, which eventually does something simple like ring a bell. The goal here is to use that process to explore kinetic and potential energy in a way kids can actually see and touch.
It fits into the bigger picture of SEED, which stands for Science Experience and Enrichment Days. These are technology-focused classes MOSI puts on to complement a homeschool curriculum with hands-on exploration of STEAM topics—science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. The classes are split by age, so this one is for the 8-to-10 group, while a separate session runs for the 11-to-13 crowd. Both are open to students only.
