Homeschool science enrichment class for ages 5-7 where kids explore prehistoric creatures through hands-on activities like making fossils and building dinosaur models.
Marching with the Dinosaurs is coming to the Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa on Tuesday, March 2, 2027, and Thursday, March 4, 2027. It's a two-hour session from 1 PM to 3 PM, and you can pick whichever day works better for your schedule. The class is for kids ages 5 to 7, so it's aimed at the younger end of the elementary school crowd.
This is part of the Homeschool Science Experience Enrichment Days, or SEED, which is a series of monthly hands-on STEAM classes the museum runs for homeschoolers. The whole session is built around dinosaur science, and the kids get to do a few different things during the two hours. They'll make their own 'fossils' and build and test dinosaur models, and they'll talk through concepts like habitats, adaptation, and how fossils actually form. It's the kind of thing that lets them touch and build rather than just listen, so it works well for kids who learn by doing.
Since it's part of the SEED series, it's designed as a standalone enrichment day rather than a long-term course. If you're homeschooling and looking for a way to get some science and STEAM into the mix, this is a good one to plug in. The museum handles the instruction, and the kids spend the afternoon working with their hands.
