Free monthly outdoor concert series on the first Thursday of each month featuring local musicians across all genres at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.
Rock the Park returns to Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on Thursday, February 5, as part of its monthly music series in Tampa. The concert runs from 6 PM to 9 PM, and it's free. The series is a partnership between the Tampa Downtown Partnership and Brokenmold Entertainment, which has been running for more than 15 years. Brokenmold also promotes weekly shows across the city, so they've got their finger on the pulse of what's playing around town.
Each concert highlights local musicians and draws from a wide range of genres, rather than sticking to one sound. Over the years, the series has served as a launchpad for many homegrown acts, giving local artists a chance to play in front of a crowd. The venue is Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, at 600 N Ashley Dr, which looks out over the Hillsborough River and the Tampa Riverwalk, with the University of Tampa's minarets as a backdrop. It's a family-friendly atmosphere, and kids, dogs, and food-truck fans are all welcome.
