The 10th Annual Riverwalk Trick-or-Treat features more than 50 treat stations, a Thriller Flash Mob, costume contests and a movie screening of 'Ghostbusters' along the Tampa Riverwalk.
Riverwalk Trick-or-Treat returns to Cotanchobee Park on Saturday, October 24, from 4 PM to 9 PM. It's the 10th anniversary of the event, which has grown into one of Tampa's biggest Halloween traditions. Friends of the Riverwalk hosts it along the waterfront of downtown Tampa, a stretch that used to be a riverfront industrial district and is now one of the city's most active public spaces.
The evening is built for families, with more than 50 treat stations spread along the route. Costumes are encouraged, and if you're running behind on yours, Kids Wish Network provides extra costumes and accessories for children on-site, while sponsors donate extra treat bags. The route takes in the waterfront of downtown Tampa, so you'll be walking the Riverwalk as you go.
There are a few set moments to work around. The Thriller Flash Mob kicks off at 4:30 PM, and costume contests for both kids and adults follow at 5 PM. Later, at 7:15 PM, the Movie in the Park screening of Ghostbusters starts, so you can settle in for the film after you've finished the treat stations. The flash mob and the outdoor movie have become signature parts of the celebration, and they're both back this year.
