A chamber music concert featuring 20th and 21st-century works performed by the Reflections Chamber Ensemble at the New Performing Arts Center.
Reflections Chamber Ensemble plays the New Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, November 4, from 8:00 to 9:30 PM. The ensemble has been bringing chamber music of the 20th and 21st centuries to Tampa Bay audiences for more than 20 years, and this performance continues that work.
Their mission since the beginning has been to program a wide variety of new music not often heard in concert. Over the years, they've commissioned new works, championed young newcomers, and staged well-known masterworks like Pierrot Lunaire. The focus is on the music of the last century and a half, so you're more likely to hear something written in the last few decades than a standard classical program.
The performance runs about two hours, and the ensemble is the sole feature of the evening. If you're not familiar with them, they've spent two decades building a presence in the local scene around this specific kind of programming.
