New Tampa Jazz Nights: Bryan J. Hughes & The Crew

Bryan J. Hughes & The Crew play the New Tampa Performing Arts Center on Friday, December 4, from 8 PM to 10 PM. The show is part of New Tampa Jazz Nights, the cabaret-style series presented by the Tampa Jazz Club, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that's been preserving and performing jazz in the Bay Area since 1995. Proceeds from the night go toward the club's scholarship fund and community programs.

This particular date doubles as a Christmas CD release party, so the band is adding holiday material to their usual set. The group has been a Bay Area favorite since 2021, fronted by vocalist Bryan J. Hughes and featuring trumpet standout James Suggs, keyboardist Dr. John C. O'Leary III, bassist Alejandro Arenas, and drummer Jean Bolduc. Arenas and Bolduc also play in the Best of the Bay Jazz Trio, La Lucha, so there's a rhythm section here that's well-acquainted.

Tickets run $30 to $35 depending on where you sit, and the venue is the New Tampa Performing Arts Center at 8550 Hunters Village Rd, Tampa, FL 33647. If you're on a budget, there are a limited number of $10 tickets available through NTPAC's Affordable Art commitment. The music runs from 8 PM to 10 PM.
