Drop-off workshop for children aged 7 to 12 to build strategies and defend a city from an alien invasion in Minecraft.
Minecraft Mania is back at MOSI on Saturday, November 14, as part of a series that runs on Saturdays from 1 PM to 3 PM throughout the school year, from August through May. It's a hands-on workshop for kids aged 7 to 12, and the one on the 14th is one of the sessions listed for October and November 2026.
The whole thing takes Minecraft beyond the screen and turns it into a challenge-packed afternoon. Kids work through individual, small-group, and full-team challenges, sharpening their computer skills and refining their strategies as they go. They'll enchant armor and pick up the basics of coding, all while working together to defend their city from an alien invasion. Each week brings a different theme, ranging from survival skills to team building, so the focus shifts from one session to the next.
It's a drop-off program, which is the part that actually makes it work for parents: you leave your kids in the museum lobby and collect them when it's over. Every registered child gets same-day general admission to MOSI, so the afternoon doesn't have to end at 3 PM—you can hang out and let them explore the interactive exhibits and hands-on STEM experiences for the rest of the day. Space is limited and advance registration is required, so it's worth getting your spot early.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Tampa and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
