The American Cancer Society's signature walk to raise awareness, honour survivors, and fund lifesaving research and patient programmes.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer comes to Raymond James Stadium on Saturday, October 24, as part of the American Cancer Society's signature walk. It's the nation's largest breast cancer movement, and the organizers describe it as a celebration of courage and hope. The morning brings people together to raise awareness, honor survivors, support those impacted by the disease, and fund lifesaving research and patient programs. The walk goes ahead rain or shine, and proceeds from the event's online store benefit the American Cancer Society.
Local organizations are getting involved, too. Wayne Lee MD Plastic Surgery and Return2Fitness are both fielding teams, and Teachers Federal Credit Union is a Silver Sponsor for the Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida legs. It's the kind of thing that draws a mix of people—survivors, families, and folks who just want to show their support.
