Kids STEAM Workshop: Little Champions for Nature

MOSI is hosting Little Champions for Nature on Saturday, May 8, 2027, from 10 AM to 1 PM. It's part of the museum's Kids STEAM Workshop series, a collection of hands-on sessions built for young learners to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics through playful, discovery-based activities. This particular one focuses on environmental science and recycling, and it's recommended for kids in kindergarten through second grade.

If your child is in scouting, there's a practical side to this beyond the activities. The workshop is designed to connect to official scouting merit badges, and this session specifically links to the Cub Scout Champions for Nature badge for Lion, Tiger, and Wolf ranks. Girl Scouts can also find badge connections here, so it works as a way to check off some requirements while spending a Saturday morning at the museum.

It's a three-hour session, so you'll want to clear a good chunk of your morning. The cost is $21 per scout and $7 per adult, with a discount for MOSI members that brings it down to $16 per scout and $5 per adult. The last day to register is Thursday, April 22, 2027, so you'll need to have your spot locked in a few weeks before the workshop actually happens.
