Kids STEAM Workshop: Among the Stars

MOSI is hosting Among the Stars, a kids STEAM workshop on Sunday, January 17, 2027, from 10 AM to 1:45 PM. It's aimed at 3rd through 6th graders, and the whole morning is built around taking a closer look at the solar system and the universe, with a planetarium show as part of the program.

If you're not familiar with how these work, the Kids STEAM Workshops at MOSI are hands-on. The idea is that kids don't just watch science happen—they do it. They solve mysteries through forensics, experiment with reactions and materials, and design, build, and test their own creations. The sessions are led by engaging educators and lean on problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork. Most of them align with Cub Scout and Girl Scout badge requirements, and this one ties in with the Junior and Cadette Space Science Researcher badges.

MOSI itself is Tampa Bay's center of science and innovation, a hands-on science center dedicated to interactive learning and playful exploration, with permanent and rotating exhibits. For this workshop, adult chaperones are required for children under 13, at a minimum ratio of one adult per ten children, and adults are encouraged to participate alongside their child.

Registration closes on Thursday, December 31. The workshop runs for three hours and costs $21+ per child, with a discount for MOSI members.
