Competitive equestrian show bringing together talented riders and Paint Horses at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
The Florida Paint Horse Club is bringing its Harvest Moon Show to the Florida State Fairgrounds this weekend, running Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18. It's a two-day competitive equestrian show that puts Paint Horses and their riders center stage, and if you've never seen one, it's a good place to start.
For those who aren't familiar, Paint Horses are known for their striking coat patternsโthe splashes of white on a solid base that give them their name. The Harvest Moon Show brings together riders and these horses for a weekend of competition, with the action taking place in the equestrian rings. It's the kind of event where you can spend a few hours just watching the different classes and seeing how the riders and horses work together.
If you're planning to head over, there are a few logistical things to keep in mind. The show is held at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center, which is part of the larger Florida State Fairgrounds at 4800 U.S. Hwy 301 N in Tampa. To get there, use the Orient Road entrance and look for Gate 4โthat'll put you right where you need to be without having to navigate the rest of the grounds.

Both days run from 8 AM to 5 PM, so you can drop in for a few hours on Saturday, come back Sunday, or just pick one day and stay for the whole thing. Admission is free for spectators, which makes it an easy one to bring along friends or family. Between the two days, there's plenty of room to see the different events as they unfold.
