4th Annual Breast Cancer Walk and Run Festival, a 5K walk and run held at Perry Harvey Sr. Park in downtown Tampa.
The Fight Wright Against Breast Cancer Festival returns to Perry Harvey Sr. Park on Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM to 2 PM. This is the fourth year the festival has run, and the main draw is the Breast Cancer Walk and Run, a 5K that you can either walk or run. It's organized by the Fight Wright Foundation, and the City of Tampa describes it as more than a raceโthey call it a movement.
Since it's a 5K, you've got your choice of how to handle the distance. If you're in the mood to move, you can run the whole thing; if you'd rather take it slow, walking it works just as well. The 5K format means it's open to different paces, so you can go at your own speed regardless of whether you're there to set a time or just to be part of the day. The event is free and open to the public, and there's no pre-registration required, which makes it easy to join in without planning weeks ahead.

Perry Harvey Sr. Park is located at 1000 E. Harrison St. in downtown Tampa, so it's centrally located and easy to get to. The festival runs from 10 AM to 2 PM, giving you a good window to get your distance in and hang around for a while. If you're coming from across town, that four-hour block means you don't have to rush in and outโyou can arrive early, do the 5K, and still have time to stick around afterward. It's a morning and early afternoon thing, so you'll be done and home well before dinner.
