15th edition of Cranksgiving, a bicycle scavenger hunt and food drive that benefits Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa.
Cranksgiving Tampa returns to Coppertail Brewing Co on Sunday, November 22, 2026, starting at 10:30 AM. If you've never heard of it, Cranksgiving is a bicycle scavenger hunt and food drive that happens in cities across the country every November. The whole point is to get people out on their bikes to collect food donations for local charities just as they're gearing up for Thanksgiving.
This is the 15th edition for the Tampa chapter, and it's still supporting Metropolitan Ministries. Over the years, the event has donated more than 25,000 pounds of food in total, and that includes 817 frozen turkeys. It's a long-running tradition here, so if you've been around the local cycling scene for a while, you've probably seen the groups heading out with their baskets full.
As for how it works, you'll be on your bike, following a scavenger hunt through the city, and picking up food donations along the way. The proceeds and the food you collect go straight to Metropolitan Ministries, which helps families across the region get a meal on the table for the holiday. It's as much about the ride as it is about the giving, and it's a good way to spend a Sunday morning if you're into cycling and want to do something useful with it.
