A free quarterly community event with live jazz performances from local bands and musicians in the courtyard of the Tampa Black History Museum, alongside family-friendly activities.
The Central Park Jazz Jam returns to the Tampa Black History Museum on Tuesday, December 15, from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. It's a free community event hosted by the Tampa Downtown Partnership, and this particular edition takes place in the museum's courtyard at 1213 N Central Ave.
The Jam is a quarterly series that celebrates the musical history of Downtown Tampa's Central Park neighborhood. The courtyard fills with live jazz from local bands and musicians, and the organizers run family-friendly activities alongside the music in partnership with the YMCA. It's an all-ages affair, so you can bring the kids along without worrying about a late-night crowd.

Because it's outdoors, the organizers suggest bringing a chair and your dancing shoes. The music runs for an hour and a half, and since it's a community event, it's free to attend. If you're in the neighborhood on a Tuesday evening and want to spend a little time with some local jazz, this is a low-stakes way to do it.
