A family-friendly 5K run where participants pass through bubble zones, with a pre-party and after-party featuring music and dancing.
Bubble Run 5k takes over the Florida State Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 17, from 7 AM to 1 PM. It's a family-friendly 5K that trades a personal best for a paint-splattered finish, so if you're the type who usually cares about your pace, you might want to leave that mindset at the starting line. The whole point here is to get messy.
Along the course, you'll run through Bubble Zones that drench you in colorful foam. The race doesn't start and end with the running, either: there's a Pre-Party at the start to get things moving, and the Fairgrounds' largest Bubble After-Party at the finish, which they describe as being all about music, dancing, and bubbles. Between the two, you're basically spending the morning in a foam machine.
It's set up as a family event, so it works as much for kids as it does for adults. If you're bringing the whole crew, just keep in mind that you'll be coming out of those zones covered in foam, so dress accordingly. The race runs through the outdoor grounds at the fairgrounds, which gives you plenty of room to move without feeling cramped.
