Behind the Bar: A Mixology Masterclass with Kevin Gibbons

Kevin Gibbons is taking over Babe Coffee Lounge on Saturday, October 24, for a mixology masterclass called Behind the Bar. It runs from 2 PM to 4 PM, and it's presented by Madame X. Gibbons runs KG Events, and he's bringing the same approach he uses for his professional gigs to the table here.

For Gibbons, the bar isn't just where you order a drink; it's part of the atmosphere and energy of an event. KG Events blends professional mixology with elevated presentation and high-impact flair, and the cocktails are designed to be as memorable visually as they are balanced in the glass. Over the two hours, he brings that philosophy directly to you. You'll make three handcrafted cocktails while learning the techniques professionals use behind the bar: shaking, muddling, straining, and garnishing, along with the basics of balance, fresh ingredients, syrups, and presentation.

The session is built to be interactive, social, and theatrical, mixing hands-on learning with demonstrations, friendly competition, and the energy of professional flair bartending. You don't need any previous bartending experience to join in, and the room is reserved for guests 21 and over, so bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Parking is free.
