Beginner Dance Practice & Social

Tonos Latin Dance is hosting a Beginner Dance Practice & Social at Gasparilla Distillery & Cocktail Bar on Sunday, October 18, from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM. It's part of their ongoing series of practice sessions, and this one focuses on Salsa and Bachata.

If you've been taking classes but still get a little anxious about actually getting out on the floor, this is exactly where you want to be. The whole point is to give beginner students a low-pressure space to review and practice what they've been learning in class and build some confidence before they head to a full-blown social. There's open practice time to Salsa and Bachata music, social dancing, and a chance to connect with other students who are in the same boat. It's not just for current students, either—the format is open to anyone who just wants to brush up on the fundamentals.

That's the core of it: a few hours of open floor and music to work through the steps without the pressure of a crowded dance floor. If you've been sticking to the studio and haven't quite made the jump to dancing out in the city, this is a good way to bridge that gap.

It runs from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Gasparilla Distillery & Cocktail Bar, 2102 East 4th Avenue, Tampa, FL 33605. General admission starts at $19.
