Ballet of Lights reimagines the classic Sleeping Beauty with dancers wearing glow-in-the-dark costumes that turn movement into light and colour.
Ballet of Lights brings Sleeping Beauty in a Sparkling Show to the Centro Asturiano de Tampa on Saturday, November 21, from 4 PM to 5:15 PM. It's a reimagining of the classic ballet, and the twist is right there in the title: the dancers wear glow-in-the-dark costumes that turn every movement into a display of light and color. The choreography comes from María Farelo and Cristian Pérez of Luma Artistas S.L., and the production is presented by Fever Arts & Culture.
If you're not a regular ballet-goer, this is a good place to start. The show runs about an hour with no intermission, so it's a single, continuous piece rather than a long evening. The glow-in-the-dark costumes are the main draw here—they change the way you see the dance, turning the stage into a moving light show. It's recommended for ages 5 and up, and children under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult.
There are a few practical things to keep in mind before you head out. Late entry isn't permitted, so you'll want to be in your seat before the curtain goes up. Doors open half an hour before the performance, and seating is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis within each zone, so arriving early is the best way to get the spot you want. Tickets start at $42.50.

This is part of the Centro Asturiano de Tampa's 2026-2027 season, and it's not a one-off—they've already scheduled more performances of the same piece for January and February 2027, so if you miss this one, you'll have another chance to catch it in the new year.
