Sean Canan's Voodoo Players play a tribute to the Marshall Tucker Band at Atomic Garage, for ages 21 and over.
Sean Canan's Voodoo Players are taking on the Marshall Tucker Band at Atomic Garage on Wednesday, December 23, 2026. It's a full-show debut, so they'll be working their way through the catalog rather than just picking a few songs. If you've spent any time with the Southern rock sound, you know the territory: the blend of country, rock, and jazz that the Marshall Tucker Band built their name on.
For those who aren't familiar with the Voodoo Players, they've been a fixture of the St. Louis scene for over a decade. The group started as a weekly jam at Broadway Oyster Bar back in January 2014, led by Sean Canan and drawing on a revolving cast of musicians from across the region. Since then, they've played more than 800 shows, and the whole point of the project is to bring to life and celebrate the work of a wide array of artists. They've run through Prince, Fleetwood Mac, Phish, the Blues Brothers, and Neil Young, so the Marshall Tucker Band is the latest name they're adding to that list.
Because it's a full-show debut, the night is built around the band's music rather than a mix of covers. The Voodoo Players have a long history of stepping into the shoes of different songwriters, and this is the first time they're dedicating a whole set to the Marshall Tucker Band. It's a Southern rock classic they've never tackled before, and they'll be playing it from start to finish.
