Inaugural public health career expo with internships, a keynote, an alumni panel, a student poster session and a job fair.
The St. Louis Public Health in Practice: Internship and Career Expo lands at Delmar DivINe - Berges Conference Center on Friday, October 30. It's the inaugural run of the expo, hosted by the St. Louis City Board of Health and Hospitals, and it's built around a pretty specific crowd: community organizations, current students, and alumni from public health programs across the city. If you're in a public health program here in St. Louis, this is exactly the kind of room you want to be in.
The day is packed with more than just a few tables. It kicks off with a light breakfast and some informal networking, then moves into a keynote and an alumni panel where former students talk through their own internship experiences. From there, it shifts to a student internship poster presentation—where you can see what people have actually been working on—and a job fair. The goal is to showcase public health internships in the St. Louis area, connect future graduates with potential employers, and break down the silos between institutions and community agencies. It's as much about meeting the people doing the work as it is about finding a listing.
If you're a student or a recent grad, the job fair is the most direct part, but the alumni panel and the poster session are where you get the real context on what these internships actually look like in practice. It's a good way to see where people have gone after their programs and what kind of work is actually happening on the ground in the city.
