Free, 21+ speed-friending meetup where adults meet in small groups of three to five at a table, then shuffle to find new friends.
Nice to Meet You! is back at Handlebar on Wednesday, Oct 21, for another round of speed-friending. It's a free event, 21+ only, and it's part of a St. Louis series that takes the speed-dating format and turns it into something for making friends instead of finding a date.
If you've never been, here's how it works: instead of one-on-one, you sit in random small groups—usually three to five people at a table—and get half an hour to talk before the tables are shuffled and you move on to a new group. It's built for adults who find meeting new people harder than it should be, and the whole thing is designed to be low-pressure, with the focus on finding like-minded friends rather than anything romantic. The crowd is a mix of ages, mostly in their 30s.
This is one of the regular meetups, which happen at Handlebar on the first Friday and third Wednesday of every month. The session is capped at 30 people, so it stays small enough that you can actually get to know the people you're sitting with. Beyond these, the organizers run group outings throughout the month—picnics, museum trips to the Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, and the City Museum—plus a board game night every other month at Pieces Board Game Bar & Café in Soulard, so there are plenty of ways to keep the conversation going after the initial meetup.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in St. Louis and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
