Free Friday stand-up night from the Gallery Laughs series, with DJ Scooter Brown, drinks and a comedy set by Guy Torry at the Saint Louis Art Museum.
Guy Torry headlines the Saint Louis Art Museum on Friday, November 6, as part of the museum's Free Friday programming. The night is titled Gallery Laughs, a four-part comedy series produced by Mid Coast Media with Chris Denman as executive producer and host. It's a two-act evening that pairs drinks and music with stand-up: DJ Scooter Brown holds down the Auditorium Lobby from 5 to 6:30 PM with a cash bar running alongside, and then the action moves into the Farrell Auditorium for Torry's set from 6:30 to 8 PM.
Gallery Laughs usually pairs a nationally touring headliner with local performers, and each show features custom portraits inspired by the headliner, created by St. Louis visual artist and illustrator Cbabi Bayoc. Bayoc's work draws on family, children and music, and a select number of prints from each show are available for attendees to take home. For this one, the headliner is a local himself: Guy Torry is a St. Louis native and actor-comedian who launched his career on national television with Def Comedy Jam and has since appeared in shows and films like Showtime at the Apollo and Don't Say a Word.
