All-ages stage production of the classic Dr. Seuss book, adapted for the stage by the National Theatre of Great Britain.
Dr. Seuss's The Cat in the Hat - Live on Stage! comes to the Stifel Theatre on Sunday, March 21, 2027, at 2 PM. It's a stage production based on the classic Dr. Seuss book, adapted for the theater in 2009 by the National Theatre of Great Britain. If you've read the book, you know the setup: a brother and sister are stuck at home on a rainy day with nothing to do, and then the Cat arrives in his red and white striped hat.
From there, the house goes from quiet to chaotic. The Cat brings along Thing One and Thing Two, who proceed to turn the place upside down, while the family's outspoken pet Fish spends the whole time warning them that this is a terrible idea. The mess keeps growing until the Cat pulls out his Picker-Up Machine to set everything right just before their mother walks through the door. It's the same story you remember, just played out on stage.

The Dr. Seuss estate describes this as the number one version of the show worldwide, with more than 300 performances across more than 60 cities. It's a production that's traveled quite a bit before landing here in St. Louis, so it's not a local premiere. The show runs on Sunday afternoon, March 21, at 2 PM at the Stifel Theatre, and all ages need a ticket.
