All-ages walk-through exhibit with animatronic dinosaurs and a hands-on fossil dig on the Saint Louis Zoo's Historic Hill.
Dinoroarus is back at the Saint Louis Zoo through November 8, 2026. It's a returning, temporary, all-ages walk-through attraction that takes you millions of years back in time, with around twenty animatronic and stationary dinosaurs lining the Zoo's Historic Hill in the valley below the Charles H. Hoessle Herpetarium. More than 130 individual animated movements bring them to life: some roar, some spit, some munch vegetation, and others sway.
The Brachiosaurus is the largest animatronic, standing 23 feet tall and weighing about 6,500 lbs. The Tyrannosaurus stretches nearly 40 feet with independently moving eyes, arms, neck, and tail. The Baryonyx drools, and the Dilophosaurus spits water at guests. It's a walk-through, so you're moving past them rather than watching from a distance.
There's a hands-on Fossil Dig interactive exhibit where you can experience paleontology firsthand. Along the way, the walk explains what scientists gather from fossils and the theories behind the dinosaurs' mass extinction. The Saint Louis Zoo itself is an AZA Accredited institution home to more than 12,000 animals, many of them endangered.
