Weekly online course for people starting a business, covering structure, pricing, budgeting and daily operations, with St. Louis Community College - Continuing Education.
Business Basics for New Entrepreneurs is running every Thursday through October 29, 2026, from 7 PM to 9 PM. It's an online course held over Zoom, so you can join from home rather than heading into the city. The whole thing is supported by St. Louis Community College - Continuing Education.
The course is built for two kinds of people: those who are still thinking about starting a business and those who have just gotten off the ground. It doesn't assume you already have the basics down. Instead, it walks through the foundational choices that trip up a lot of new owners. You'll cover how to pick your business structure, how to set smart pricing, and how to put together a simple budget that actually works for your day-to-day operations.
Beyond the numbers, there's a focus on the practical side of running thingsβthe daily operations that keep a business moving. A good part of the course is dedicated to showing you how to avoid the common missteps that new entrepreneurs often run into, which is usually the part that helps the most when you're making decisions on your own. The goal is to leave you feeling more confident about the choices you're making as you build.
Every week we pick π the 5 best π things to do in St. Louis and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Since it's on Zoom, you don't have to worry about a commute; you just need a computer and a quiet spot to focus for two hours. The sessions run every Thursday through October 29, from 7 PM to 9 PM, and the cost is $55.
