Morgan Nusbaum, Sarah Gallen, and Suzie Cue are bringing a boygenius tribute to The Heavy Anchor on Saturday, March 6, 2027. It's a full-on recreation of the supergroup: Nusbaum takes on Lucy Dacus, Gallen steps in for Julien Baker, and Cue handles Phoebe Bridgers. If you've followed the three of them separately, you know how distinct their styles are—Dacus with her punchy delivery, Baker with her raw, stripped-back intensity, and Bridgers with her signature hushed melodies. The whole point of boygenius was how those three voices locked together, and that's exactly what this trio is aiming for.
It's a specific kind of show. Rather than just playing the songs, they're stepping into the roles, each taking one of the three parts that made the original band work. The venue is The Heavy Anchor, a South City bar and music spot on Gravois Avenue at 5226 Gravois Ave. It's a place that stays open Monday through Saturday from 5 PM to 1:30 AM, so it's a spot you can easily drop into before or after the music. The show starts at 8 PM on Saturday, March 6.
