British post-hardcore and punk band Basement plays The Hawthorn with High Vis, Big Boy and First Day Back.
Basement play The Hawthorn on Saturday, November 7, their first St. Louis show since their first album. They're touring WIRED, a raw and creative record that came after some time away to reflect on life, legacy and expectation. It's their first new album in eight years, so the set should lean on that new material.
Basement is a British post-hardcore and punk band that's stayed the same five friends since they formed in 2009: vocalist Andrew Fisher, guitarists Alex Henery and Ronan Crix, bassist Duncan Stewart and drummer James Fisher. They describe their aim simply as "just trying to be honest," and that's pretty much the whole story. They've kept the same lineup for over a decade, which is a rare thing for a band in this scene, and WIRED marks their first full-length since 2018.
They're not coming alone, either. High Vis, Big Boy and First Day Back are all on the bill, so there's a full night of music leading up to them. If you've followed the band since the early days, this is the first time they've played St. Louis since their first album, and the first time they've been back in the city with a new record to play.
