Evening of metaphysical market, tarot readings, sound healing, reiki and a sigil-making workshop on the backlot, with a programme of occult-themed films.
Chaos Magick is taking over the backlot at Arkadin Cinema & Bar on Friday, October 23, for Autumn Alchemy, a metaphysical market and energy cleanse. It runs from 4:59 PM to 11 PM, and the whole evening is built around the approach of Samhain—the time of year when the veil is said to thin. Chaos Magick describes it as a night of intuitive readings, energetic cleansing, and community.
Most of the action happens outside on the backlot. You'll find a metaphysical market with witchy wares to browse, and a lineup of practitioners offering tarot readings, limpias, sound healing, and reiki. There's also a workshop where you can learn sigil-making, container spells, and candle magick, so you can walk away with something you actually made rather than just something you bought. If you're not into the hands-on stuff, you can just hang out and watch the readings and cleansings happen around you.

Inside, the cinema side of the venue is running a film program that stays in the same occult territory. The lineup includes Häxan (1922), The Craft (1996), and Lords of Salem (2012)—three movies that range from silent-era surrealism to 90s teen witchcraft and modern horror. To go with them, the bar is serving a curated cocktail and mocktail menu, so you can drift between the backlot and the theater throughout the night. If you're coming for the readings and the market, the movies are there as a backdrop; if you're coming for the films, the market is there to explore in between. It all runs from 4:59 PM to 11 PM at Arkadin Cinema & Bar in St. Louis.
