Stand-up show by Estonian comedian Ari Matti, who shares stories about growing up in Eastern Europe, in the 18+ Helium Comedy showroom.
Ari Matti is playing Helium & Elements Restaurant in St. Louis over three nights: Friday, October 23, Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25. He's a stand-up comedian from Estonia who now lives in Austin, Texas, and he's spent the last twelve years touring stories about growing up in Eastern Europe. He's performed across Europe, Asia, Australia, Canada, and the United States, opening for names like Chris Franklin, Al De Bene, Rizal Van Geyzel, Jim Brewsky, and Lawrence Mooney.
Before this run, he spent a year in Vancouver working as a feature act and headliner at Yuk Yuks and The Comedy Mix. While there, he self-promoted an hour-long set called Imported Goods at the Rio Theater and sold 350 seats. These days he's a paid regular at Joe Rogan's Comedy Mothership and a recurring member of Kill Tony, the world's number one live podcast.
Away from the stage, his other passion is martial arts. He's become a figure in Estonia's local MMA community and has commented on numerous international pay-per-view fights. That's a bit of a detour from the comedy, but it gives you a sense of the person behind the mic.
