Post-punk band World News perform live at The Joiners as part of their UK and Ireland tour in autumn 2026.
World News play The Joiners on Wednesday 21 October, their Southampton stop on a UK and Ireland tour running through the autumn. It's a mid-week one, with the set starting at 7:00 pm.
They're a post-punk band from London and Brighton, formed in 2018, and since then they've put out a string of singles and EPs. Their sound sits at the crossroads of indie/post-punk, indie rock and shoegaze, so it's a bit of a mix: the angular lines of post-punk, the melodic side of indie rock, and the wall of sound that shoegaze is known for. If you're into any of those, you'll find a bit of each in the set.
The Southampton date is part of their autumn 2026 tour across the UK and Ireland, and they've got festival appearances on the horizon too, so this is one of the club shows they're playing along the way. It's a good chance to catch them in a proper venue rather than on a festival bill.
