A tribute concert by Ultimate Leppard, the UK's No.1 Def Leppard tribute act, recreating the rock anthems and power ballads of the original band.
Ultimate Leppard are playing The 1865 on Saturday 12 September, a tribute night dedicated to Def Leppard. They're billed as the UK's No.1 Def Leppard tribute act, and they describe themselves as 'The Next Best Thing to Def Leppard'.
The set is a recreation of the original band's rock anthems and power ballads, built on soaring vocals, screaming guitars and a relentless beat. It's the kind of sound that takes you back to the 1980s when Def Leppard ruled the airwaves, so if you spent your Saturdays back then with their records on, this is exactly that territory. They're not playing a handful of hits; they're recreating the anthems and the ballads that defined the band's run.
It's worth keeping in mind the scale of the band they're paying homage to: Def Leppard have sold over 100 million albums worldwide, and that's the catalogue Ultimate Leppard are drawing from. The tribute is built on the same elements that made the originals work — the high vocals, the loud guitars and the steady beat — rather than a reimagining of them. It's a night for the songs you know by heart.
