Tatty Macleod, the French TikTok Lady, contrasts her life choices with her mother's in her show Things My Mother Did.
Tatty Macleod brings her new show, Things My Mother Did, to Mayflower Studios on Wednesday 10 March. It's her first date in Southampton since her previous show, Fugue, which Time Out named one of the ten best comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and took on sold-out tours across the UK and Europe. Between the stage, she also writes Tatty en Terrasse, a successful Substack.
Things My Mother Did grew out of a single viral moment. In August 2025, Macleod posted a video of her 73-year-old mum digging a trench; it hit 25 million views and turned 'DIY Liz' into a sensation. The show takes that off and runs with it, with Macleod weighing up her mother's life choices against her own and asking whether she's becoming her. It's the kind of thing that starts as a joke about your parents and ends up being a bit of a mirror.
It's a full evening: the performance runs about an hour and 50 minutes, including an interval and a support act. The show is presented by Show And Tell in association with United Agents, and it's strictly for ages 14 and over. If you're following her work, there's more on the horizon, too — her first non-fiction book is due out in 2027.
