Solo guitar recital by Franco-Spanish guitarist Thibaut Garcia, presented by the Southampton Classical Guitar Society as part of its Celebrity Concert Series.
Thibaut Garcia plays a solo guitar recital at Turner Sims on Sunday 8 November, 19:30. It's presented by the Southampton Classical Guitar Society as part of their Celebrity Concert Series, and it breaks with the series' usual run: this one falls on a Sunday rather than a Saturday.
Garcia is a Franco-Spanish guitarist who won first prize at the Guitar Foundation of America competition in 2015 and was a BBC New Generation Artist from 2017 to 2019. He's played at Wigmore Hall, the Konzerthaus in Vienna, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow and the Berlin Philharmonie. Earlier this year, in April 2026, he toured the UK's major concert halls with the Galicia Symphony Orchestra performing Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez.
This recital draws on his dual heritage, and the programme runs from the mid-Baroque of Marais and Bach through to twentieth-century works by Lopez Quiroga. It's a solo performance, so it's just him and the guitar on stage for the whole evening.
