A relaxed, guided evening painting workshop where participants create their own artwork of a rainbow forest, with all materials and a canvas included.
The Paint Club is hosting Rainbow Forest at Maritimo Lounge on Tuesday 6 October, from 19:00 to 21:00. It's a two-hour painting session where everyone works towards the same thing: a rainbow forest. The whole evening is guided step-by-step by a friendly artist, so you're not just left to figure it out on your own — they'll walk you through the process from start to finish, and the aim is for everyone to leave with their own finished piece of art.
One of the best bits is that you don't need to bring a thing. All the painting materials and a canvas are included in the price, so you can just turn up and get stuck in. If you fancy a drink or a bite to eat while you work, there's food and drink available to buy separately on the night. It's a relaxed, creative evening, and since the artist leads the way, it works whether you've never touched a brush before or you're already comfortable with a palette.
It's all happening at Maritimo Lounge, which is on the third floor of Admiral's Quay, 1 Moresby Tower, Ocean Way, Southampton SO14 3LG. One thing to keep in mind is that there's no lift, so you'll be taking the stairs up to the third floor. The session is part of Southampton's wider cultural scene, which centres around the Cultural Quarter — home to the Mayflower Theatre, the Mayflower Studios in Guildhall Square, the Southampton City Art Gallery, God's House Tower and John Hansard Gallery.
