The Odyssey

The Odyssey is showing at Harbour Lights Picturehouse in Ocean Village, with screenings at 14:30 and 19:45. It's Christopher Nolan's take on the world's oldest adventure, following Odysseus on his perilous journey home after the Trojan War. Along the way, he crosses paths with Polyphemus, the Sirens and Circe, before finally reuniting with his wife, Penelope.

The cast is a big one. Matt Damon leads as Odysseus, with Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong'o and Tom Holland all in the mix. It's a reimagining of the epic on the big screen, shot across the globe with next-generation technology, so it's built for the cinema rather than a living room.

It's a long one, running 172 minutes, so you'll want to clear a good chunk of your afternoon or evening. It carries a 15 certificate, which is worth keeping in mind if you're planning a family outing.
