Lucy Kitchen plays The Brook on Sunday 6 September, as part of The Listening Garden — a new series of live sessions that relaunches the venue's 'Listening Room'. The series is curated by The Brook and Pink Skies, and presented in association with PRS Foundation, Arts Council England and Mash Gang. It's built around songwriting and performance, with the sessions designed to let you hear the music with your full attention.
Kitchen is a British folk singer-songwriter whose album In the Low Light came out earlier this year. It hit number 19 in the Official Folk Chart and picked up praise from Mojo, Shindig and Rollingstone DE. This session is an outdoor event at The Brook, so it's a bit different from the usual indoor gig — a Sunday afternoon set rather than a night out.
She's one of several names coming through the series, which also features Louis Brennan, Sorrel Nation, Ella Clayton, Laura Reznek and Night Flight. The whole thing is presented as an intimate afternoon of live music, and because it's a relaunch of the Listening Room, there's an 'Eager Ears' ticket tier available at a special introductory price.
