Southampton's biggest Halloween party with a purpose-built marquee, live music, scare actors, and immersive rave atmosphere.
Nightmare In The Square returns to Guildhall Square on Saturday 31 October, the same night every year. It's billed as Southampton's biggest Halloween party, and the setup is a bit of a local fixture: a huge purpose-built marquee goes up in the square, turning the open space into an immersive rave for the night. More than 2,000 costumed ravers usually descend on it, and the fancy dress is described as an absolute must.
Inside, the marquee is decked out with haunted-themed décor and twisted set design, and it's not just about the music. There are live scare actors and freaky roaming entertainers working the crowd, alongside confetti blasts, CO₂ cannons, UV effects, lasers and a thundering sound system. It's a full-on production rather than just a DJ set in a room.
The line-up is already taking shape. EATS EVERYTHING is confirmed, along with Danny Howard from BBC Radio 1, and Di Chiara Brothers and Scott Steer. There are more special guests to be announced, so that's not the full picture yet.

It runs from 4pm to 11pm, so you've got a good stretch of the afternoon and evening to work with. Tickets start from £10, and the organisers say it sells out every single time, so if you're planning on it, getting yours early is a sensible move.
