Karaoke & DJ kicks off at Medbar on Wednesday 1 July, and it's not just a one-off. It's a weekly thing that runs every Wednesday night from now until 25 November, so if you're not feeling it this week, there's plenty more to come.
The format is straightforward. The karaoke starts at 20:00, and the DJ is there to keep things moving. To get your name on the list, you buy a drink, scan the QR code, and pick your song. From there, the DJ calls you up when it's your turn to take the mic. It's a buy-a-drink-to-sing setup, so you're paying for what you're drinking rather than a ticket to get through the door.
Medbar is at 50 Oxford Street, SO14 3DP, right in the centre of Southampton. It's a bar and nightclub, so the vibe is more of a night out than a quiet singalong. The karaoke runs every Wednesday from 20:00, and the venue stays open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, so it's a spot that keeps going well into the early hours.
