Holy Holy feat. Tony Visconti & Woody Woodmansey

Holy Holy play The 1865 on Wednesday 9 September, with doors opening at 19:00. They're billed as the closest thing to a Bowie gig, and the line-up explains why: it features Woody Woodmansey, Bowie's drummer and the 'Spider Man from Mars', and producer Tony Visconti, who worked on many of Bowie's albums and played bass on The Man Who Sold The World. They're joined by an all-star band that includes Glenn Gregory of Heaven 17, a Bowie fan and friend.

Together they perform material from Bowie's early years, 1969 to 1973, a period to which both Woodmansey and Visconti contributed at the time. The band is clear about how they see themselves: they describe their work as that of original Bowie band members rather than a tribute act. It's that distinction that puts them apart from the usual Bowie covers bands you'll find on the circuit.
