A 1920s-themed gala dinner with canapés, a themed meal and live singing by Paul McDowell in the vineyard.
Wickham Estate is hosting a Gatsby Gala Dinner on Saturday 8 August, a themed evening set in the vineyard. The whole night is built around the Roaring 20s, with the Jazz Age as the starting point for the food, the music and the dress code.
It kicks off with 1920s-themed canapés, followed by a themed two-course dinner. You'll also get a glass of the estate's own Classic Cuvée sparkling wine. On the music side, singer Paul McDowell will be performing live throughout the evening, and there's an interactive 360-degree photobooth to capture the night. The dress code is a big part of it: they're encouraging guests to come in vintage elegance and Art Deco style—think flapper dresses, pearls and feathers, or sharp suits and bow ties.
The venue is Wickham Estate Vineyard, specifically The Old Winery Room on Botley Road in Shedfield, SO32 2HL. It's an exclusive wedding venue in the Hampshire countryside, tucked between the Meon Valley and Wickham, and it keeps its winery, tasting room and on-site guest-house all in one place. The dinner itself takes place in the vineyard, so you'll be right where the grapes are grown.

Tickets are £85 per person, and the whole thing runs on Saturday 8 August. If you've got a flapper dress or a sharp suit waiting in the wardrobe, this is a good excuse to finally bring it out.
