Weekly daytime club night with live DJs playing throwback R&B, UK garage, 90s dance and 80s hits, with 2-for-1 cocktails and food until 8.30pm.
Daytime Clubbing is back at Medbar on Saturday 10 October, part of the venue's weekly Saturday afternoon session that runs from 4pm to 10pm. It's built for the early birds who want to dance and drink without staying out until the early hours, and it's one of the few spots in Southampton doing a proper club night in the middle of the day.
On the decks are live DJs playing a mix of throwback R&B, UK garage classics, 90s dance anthems and 80s hits. It's a broad stretch of territory, so you'll hear as much garage and R&B as you will dancefloor fillers from a couple of decades back. The music runs all afternoon, and the drinks deal is a good one: 2-for-1 cocktails across the whole menu from 4pm to 8pm, with food served until 8.30pm. If you're celebrating a birthday, there are free cocktails for that too.
When 10pm hits, the party doesn't stop; it turns into a free after-party that carries across both of the venue's rooms. Door charges only kick in if you leave and then come back in after 10.30pm, so if you're already there, you can keep going without paying extra. Medbar itself has been on Oxford Street since 2013 and bills itself as the city's number one late-night bar and club, open until 2am every Friday and Saturday across two rooms with free entry before 10pm.

Beyond the Saturday daytime fixture, the venue keeps things moving throughout the week: Latin Fiesta on Sundays with salsa, bachata and kizomba, a midweek karaoke night, and a Sunday Latin Night. For the daytime session, entry is free and walk-ins are welcome, with the 4pm to 10pm window being the main event.
