Daytime Clubbing

Daytime Clubbing is back at Medbar Southampton this Saturday, 22 August, and it's a weekly thing, so if you miss this one, there's another on the 29th. It's exactly what it says on the tin: a Saturday day party with live DJs and dancing all day, rather than waiting until midnight to get going. The venue is at 50 Oxford Street, SO14 3DP, and it's open from 12pm until 2am, though the clubbing side of things kicks off from 4pm.

The music is a broad mix. You'll hear commercial hits, Afrobeats, Reggaeton and Latin, golden oldies, UK Garage, D&B, Amapiano and Dancehall. It's a wide spread, so you're likely to hear something you recognise regardless of where your tastes lean. Medbar describes it as Southampton's only free weekly Saturday day party, and that's the main draw: you can roll in whenever you fancy and stay as long as you like without worrying about a cover charge.

If you're into the urban side of things, there's more on site. Medbar also runs the Urban Room, its only late-night room dedicated to urban music, which plays Afrobeats, Dancehall, Bashment, Afro Party, Amapiano and R&B/Hip Hop. The venue opened in 2013, so it's a known quantity in the city.

There are a few cocktail deals to go with the dancing. From 4pm until 8pm, cocktails are 2-for-1, and if you're celebrating a birthday or a hen party, there's a free cocktail with a sparkler. Entry is free all day, and the next one is Saturday 29 August.
