A community running series featuring a Junior 1 mile Dash and adult 5km and 10km races, organised by Dash Together in aid of Naomi House Children's Hospice.
Dash Together are bringing the Itchen Valley Summer Challenge to Itchen Valley Country Park on Thursday 9 July, from 17:30 to 21:30. It's one of two races in their summer series, which they've set up for runners of all abilities to bring the community together for fitness, fun, and fresh air. The whole thing runs in aid of Naomi House Children's Hospice, so there's a good cause behind it.
The evening kicks off with a Junior 1 mile Dash for the younger ones, and then the adults (15+) take over with 5km and 10km races. You can pick your distance, and since it's a summer evening, you'll be running while it's still light out. Everyone who enters gets a unique finishers medal, official race photos, and post-race snacks. There are paramedics and toilets on site, so the basics are covered.
The venue is Itchen Valley Country Park, on Allington Lane in Eastleigh, just on the outskirts of Southampton. It's a family spot with woodland walks and nature-inspired play areas, so if you're bringing the kids for the Junior Dash, there's plenty to do around the race. Dogs are welcome on site, though they have to stay on a lead and can't run the course.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Southampton and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.
