A high-caliber musical tribute show to Dire Straits, led by Angelo Fumarola, recreating the band's classic repertoire.
Brothers In Band are playing The 1865 on Tuesday 6 October, a Dire Straits tribute that's been recreating the different stages of Mark Knopfler's band across Europe and South America since 2007. They're led by Angelo Fumarola, and the whole thing is built around the band's classic repertoire.
What sets them apart from a standard tribute is that they don't just stick to one era. They work from several distinct formats, and depending on the night, you might get 'The Very Best of Dire Straits', a wide-ranging set that runs from 1977 right through to the band's dissolution. Or it could be the 'Brothers In Arms 1985/86 Tribute Show', which recreates the historic 1985/86 world tour. There's also 'Alchemy Dire Straits Re-Live', the live show recorded at the Hammersmith Odeon in London in July 1983, and 'The Last Tour of Dire Straits', the 1991-1992 tour, performed with the same nine-piece line-up that was on stage back then.
It's a long-running act, and they've spent nearly two decades playing these different versions of the band's history. If you've got a particular era of Dire Straits you prefer—the early years, the massive mid-eighties tour, the live recording at the Odeon, or the final tour—they've got a specific show for it.
